Agreeing to these terms
These terms cover your use of this website and any work you hire Essential Hanahan Spray Foam Insulation to do. By using the site, asking for an estimate or scheduling a job with us, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the site or book work with us.
When we say "we", "us" or "our crew", we mean Essential Hanahan Spray Foam Insulation. When we say "you", we mean the person using the site or the property owner who hires us. If a signed written estimate or contract for your job says something different from these terms, the signed document controls for that job.
What we do
We're an insulation contractor based in Hanahan, SC, and we work on homes and commercial buildings in Hanahan and the cities around it. Our work includes spray foam, blown-in and batt insulation, insulation removal, air sealing, and crawl space and vapor barrier work. You can read more about who we are on our about page and see our services from the home page.
Information on this website is general and is meant to help you understand the work. It isn't a promise about your house, because what a job needs depends on what we find once we're in your attic, walls or crawl space. Photos and descriptions show typical work and may not match your job exactly.
Estimates and pricing
We give free in-person estimates with no obligation to hire us. An estimate is based on what we can see and measure during the visit, so it covers the scope, materials and price written on it and nothing more.
Some conditions only show up once the work starts, like old insulation that's wet or full of droppings, damaged framing, buried vents or wiring that has to be dealt with first. If we find something like that, we'll stop, show you what we found and explain the options, and we won't do added work or charge for it until you approve the change. Estimates are good for the period written on them, because material prices change, and after that we may need to update the price.
Scheduling, access and cancellation
We'll agree on a start date with you and do our best to keep it, but weather, material delays, illness and earlier jobs running long can move a date. If that happens, we'll let you know as soon as we can and set a new one with you. We're not responsible for losses caused by a delay outside our control.
You agree to give our crew safe access to the work areas, including the attic, crawl space and any rooms we need to pass through, and to clear stored items from those spaces unless we've agreed to do it. Some products, especially spray foam, need the house or part of it to stay empty for a set time, and you agree to follow the re-entry time, meaning when people and pets can come back in, that our crew gives you for your job.
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please call us at (843) 278-0353 as early as you can. If we've already ordered special materials or started work, you'll owe for materials bought for your job and work already done, along with any cancellation terms written in your estimate.
Payment
Payment terms, including any deposit, are written on your estimate or contract. Unless that document says otherwise, the balance is due when the work is finished.
If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's made, and you'll be responsible for reasonable costs of collecting what's owed, as South Carolina law allows. Under South Carolina law, a contractor who isn't paid for work on a property may have the right to file a lien on that property.
Our work and warranty limits
We're fully licensed and insured, and we stand behind our work. If something about the job isn't right, call us and we'll come back and look at it. Any written warranty for your job, and how long it lasts, will be stated on your estimate or contract, and insulation products also carry their own warranties from the companies that make them.
Except for what's written on your estimate or contract, we make no other promises about our work or this website, including any promise about how much your power bill will change. Energy use depends on things we don't control, like your heating and cooling equipment, ductwork, thermostat settings and the weather. Our warranty doesn't cover damage from leaks, pests, storms, other contractors' work, changes you make after we leave, or conditions that were there before we started.
Limits on our liability
To the extent South Carolina law allows, our total liability for any claim about a job is limited to the amount you paid us for that job. We're not liable for indirect or follow-on losses, such as lost use of the property, lost income or higher energy costs.
We aren't responsible for problems that existed before we arrived, including mold, moisture damage, rot, pest damage, old wiring or asbestos, though we'll tell you if we see them. If we find material we suspect is hazardous, we'll stop work in that area until it's been checked and handled by someone qualified to do so.
Settling a disagreement
If you're unhappy with anything we've done, call us first at (843) 278-0353 or reach us through our contact page, because most problems get fixed fastest by talking them through on site. If we can't settle it that way, we both agree to try mediation with a neutral person before going to court, unless a claim has to be filed sooner to protect a legal right.
Nothing in this section takes away any right you have under South Carolina consumer protection law.
Which law applies
These terms and any work we do for you are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina. Any court case about them will be brought in a state or federal court in South Carolina.
Using this website
The words, photos and design on this website belong to Essential Hanahan Spray Foam Insulation or are used with permission, and you may not copy them for business use without asking us. Links to other websites are there for convenience, and we're not responsible for what those sites say or do.
When you send us a message through the contact form, you agree that the information is accurate and that we may use it to answer you about your job.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time, and the version posted on this page is the one that applies. Changes don't affect a job already under a signed estimate or contract unless we both agree in writing.
If you have a question about these terms, call us at (843) 278-0353 or use our contact page, and we'll explain anything that isn't clear before you book.
